SAN JOAQUIN <br /> Environmental Health Department <br />COUN TY <br />Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br />Facility Name: <br />J & H MARINE INC <br />Facility Address: <br />401 N SAN JOSE ST, STOCKTON <br />Date: <br />February 08, 2022 <br />SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br />(CLASS I, CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comply) <br />Item # Remarks <br />301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br />OBSERVATION: An yellow Caterpillar engine under a carport storage area was releasing oil. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br />possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br />waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: The violation was corrected during the inspection by applying absorbent and cleaning the <br />area. No further action is required to correct this violation. <br />This is a Class ll violation. <br />403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br />waste. <br />OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: Used oil filter <br />containers/ oily absorbent container. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br />storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br />when not adding or removing waste. Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to the <br />San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />505 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label stationary hazardous waste tanks. <br />OBSERVATION: The hazardous waste tanks storing used oil does not have complete labeling. No label was <br />present on the tank. <br />' <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste tanks shall be marked with the words "Hazardous Waste" and the <br />accumulation start date. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Label the hazardous waste tanks with the words "Hazardous Waste" and the accumulation <br />start date.
