WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -r <br /> FORWARD INCORPORATED <br /> WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY <br /> CLASS II LANDFILLS r �" <br /> CLASS, 111 LANDFILLS `° C <br /> CLASS 11 SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT � <br /> CLASS. 11 LAND TREATMENT UNIT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> OPERATION FACILITIES <br /> 27. The Discharger operates a recycling operation south of Littlejohns Creek. <br /> There are 200 to 400 cubic yards of recyclable materials generated each <br /> day. These materials include baled cardboard and paper, ferrous and <br /> nonferrous metals, and wood. The recycling operation is capable of <br /> processing up to 2,000 cubic yards per day of material. future plans <br /> include the installation of additional baling equipment, magnetic separa- <br /> tion equipment, glass and plastic recycling, and composting facilities. <br /> 28. 'Nonhazardous solid waste' is currently being placed. in WMU "D" at the ra e,, <br /> of 1,250 to 3,000 cubic yards per day. , <br /> 29. Asbestos will be discharged to WMU "D" and "N" at the rate of 1.,000 to P , <br /> 10,000 cubic yards per month. ` ; <br /> 30. Coal and wood ash will be placed in NMU "E" at the rate of 3,000 to 8,000 C ` <br /> cubic yards per month. <br /> 31. 'Nonhazardous liquid wastes' other than leachate will be placed in WMU "F" <br /> at approximately 16,000 gal/day. A"" <br /> 32. Soil contaminated with less than hazardous levels of petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> will be aerated at WMU "G" at a rate of up to 200 cubic yards per day, } <br /> depending on the degree of contamination and weather conditions. <br /> 33. The Discharger' s current plans indicate that WMU "D" will be expanded in <br /> three phases. WMU "D" will have an ultimate capacity of 5.4 million cubic <br /> yards and will be filled by 2011. <br /> 34. WMU "E" has a design capacity of 520,000 cubic yards. The new eastern-most <br /> pit has a capacity of 260,000 cubic yards and will be filled in four to <br /> eight years. New pits will be constructed in WMU "E" once the first pit is <br /> filled. <br /> 35. WMU "F" will have a surface area of approximately five acres. <br /> 36. WMU "G" covers an area of two acres. Up to 200 cubic yards of soil can be <br /> aerated there per day. In addition, piles of contaminated soil awaiting <br /> aeration will be stored at this WMU. The Discharger has operated a test <br /> land treatment plot and demonstrated that the soil contaminated with less <br /> than hazardous levels of petroleum hydrocarbons can be transformed to a <br /> 'nonhazardous solid waste' within the treatment zone. WMU "G" may be moved <br /> to a new location on the facility as existing iaiMUs are expanded or as new <br /> WMUs are built. <br />
