WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -14- <br /> FORWARD INCORPORATED <br /> WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY <br /> CLASS II LANDFILLS <br /> CLASS III LANDFILLS <br /> CLASS II SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT <br /> CLASS II LAND TREATMENT UNIT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> 39. Each old location of WMU "G" must be closed according to Subchapter 15 <br /> before operations at the new location can begin. Closure shall <br /> include testing of the old location for the parameters described in <br /> the land treatment section of Monitoring and Reporting Program No. <br /> plus any additional parameters required by the Board. <br /> 40. The maximum depth of the treatment zone shall not exceed five feet <br /> from the initial soil surface. <br /> 41. Aerated soil from WMU "G" shall be disposed of as follows: <br /> *TPH Concentration Maximum Benzene Disposal <br /> mg/kg Concentration, mg/kg Alternatives <br /> <100 <0.7 A, B, C, D <br /> >100 <0.7 0, E <br /> * Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon <br /> A = Co-disposal with 'nonhazardous solid waste' <br /> B = Use as daily cover <br /> C = Use as intermediate cover <br /> D = Use as foundation layer of cap at closure <br /> E = Confer with Board regarding possible disposal options or continue <br /> aeration <br /> 42. Soil piles stored in WMU "G" shall at all times be completely covered <br /> with a synthetic liner, except during aeration. <br /> 43. Soils containing contaminants other than petroleum hydrocarbons and <br /> BTX (chlorinated hydrocarbons, heavy metals, etc. ) shall not be placed <br /> in WMU "G" without prior approval of the Board. <br /> 44. WMU "G" shall be graded so that runoff will collect in a sedimentation <br /> pond dedicated to that unit. Water leaving that sedimentation pond <br /> may be discharged if it does not contain waste. <br /> DRYING OPERATION SPECIFICATIONS <br /> 45. Food processing wastes may be disposed of by spreading on a one foot <br /> thick, compacted clay pad that is bermed to prevent runoff. Within 48 <br /> hours, this waste shall be disced into the clay pad in such a manner <br /> as to allow drying of the waste with no percolation of liquid through <br />
