J AQUi1N COUNTY <br /> Forward bre- operates a waste management facility on Austin Road, seven miles <br /> southeast of the City of Stockton. The south fork of little Johns Creek <br /> traverses the southern portion of the 157-acre site. There are currently four <br /> exist.tng waste management units (WMUs) on the facility although only one is <br /> cur're=ntlby being operated. The remaining three, one of which contains hazardous <br /> wasate:,, w111 be closed within two years. One Class II WMU that will be operated <br /> as a Ta-,ndfill , is under construction. The two remaining WMUs, a Class II <br /> surface impoundment and a land treatment unit, Will probably be built within two <br /> years.. <br /> The geolalgi,c materials immediately beneath the waste site are lenticular clay, <br /> sand„ and minor amounts of gravel . Some of these lenses appear to be laterally <br /> ntinuous underneath the site. <br /> First ground water occurs beneath the site at a depth of approximately 50 feet. <br /> Groundiw&terflows beneath the site towards the northeast. <br /> These li Rs were written to bring the facility into compliance with Subchapter <br /> Y.S. The- Department of Health Services is participating with the Board in <br /> regulating closure of the WMU containing hazardous waste. <br /> TAC.jj, 111Z.188 <br />
