The RWQCB has approved asbestos for disposal at this <br /> facility in Waste Management Unit "D". It is also authorized for <br /> disposal by the Solid Waste Facilities Permit. The operator has <br /> the responsibility for ensuring that the loads accepted are <br /> properly manifested, if required, under the regulations <br /> administered by DHS-TSCD. <br /> Our concern with asbestos is that it is properly handled at the <br /> site and that the operator meets the requirements of the State <br /> Minimum Standards. The LEA has the responsibility to inspect the <br /> facility for compliance with the State Minimum Standards under <br /> the authority of the Government Code.
