Former Class II-1 trenches which received hazardous <br /> wastes and which are currently undergoing closure <br /> 2. Two inactive , one proposed and one active Class III <br /> ;landfil1ww� t�r <br /> 3.� Class II landfill for wood' andcoal a$Ft <br /> I <br /> 4. Proposed Class II surface impoundment for leachate anl�� <br /> T other liquid wastes ` <br /> 5. Proposed land treatment unit : <br /> y ; <br /> Foward also proposes to accept asbestos and automobile shredder <br /> wastes. <br /> The California Farm Bureau Federation has protested the pr <br /> posed disposal of asbestos. The Farm Bureau alleges that <br /> asbestos fibers may move into ground water where they may <br /> pollute shallow ground water (letter attached) . Staff <br /> believes that it is unlikely that asbestos fibers will be <br /> mobilized since leachate has not been generated in either of ' <br /> '. 4 the two waste management units where asbestos disposal is <br /> proposed.
