h
COMPLIANCE AGREEMENT
FORWARD INC. LANDFILL
The following compliance agreement is submitted to bring the
Forward Inc. Landfill into compliance with the State Minimum
Standards which were listed as violations in the California
Waste Management Board Investigation of August 24, 1988:
Section 17658 - Site Security
The 100 foot section of fence at the Austin Road Property
line has been repaired. The access point at the southwest
corner of the property has been secured and the illegally
dumped clothes dryer has been removed. The site is now
entirely secure with proper fencing.
Section 17677 - Spreadina and Compacting
The accumulation of waste observed at the south end of the
working face was due to an equipment breakdown at the end of
the previous day. Due to the lateness of the day, it was not
possible to locate alternate equipment before the next day.
The incident was immediately corrected. Standard operation
consists of spreading and compacting as the waste is received
with loose layers of refuse not exceeding a depth of
approximately two feet before compaction.
Section 17678 - Slopes and Cuts
The observed slope of the southern end of the working face of
45 degrees was the result of the previously mentioned
equipment breakdown. This condition has been corrected and
the slope of the working face is held to a maximum of 2. 5
horizontal to i vertical to ensure efficient compaction.
Page 1
