L,UAILY & BUTLERASSOCIATES
® ® Waste Management Consultants
4 November 1988
Mr. Steve E. Rosenbaum
Engineering Geologist
Regional Water Quality Control Boar
Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road
Sacramento, CA 95827
RE: Third Quarter Monitoring, Forward Landfill; EB87-108
Dear Mr. Rosenbaum,
Find enclosed the laboratory results oft the ground water monitoring program taking
place at the Forward Landfill, Stockton CA. These results constitute the third quarter
of monitoring at the landfill, however, due to the excessively low ground water table
in the area, only the wells screened at the upper most aquifer were sampled.
Replacement wells 2A and 5A were installed and developed on October 3 through
October 5 and were allowed to stabilize approximately 2 weeks prior to sampling.
Well 5A was sampled October 20, however, due to a breakdown in the monitoring
equipment, well 2A was not initially sampled. This well will be sampled and any
needed verification sampling will take place immediately upon arrival of the
replacement pump parts.
EBA received the enclosed results from the lab on Friday, October 28 and, therefore,
were unable to meet the October 15th deadline mentioned in your letter.
Forthcoming data for MW-5A should be to you by November 15 and chemical
analyses for MW-2A will be rushed and forwarded to you as soon as possible.
Along with the MW-2A lab results you will also be receiving data on the coal and
wood ash, the contaminated soils and the designated and non-hazardous waste.
If you have any questions concerning the enclosed results or problems with the
above mentioned timetable, please call me at 707-544-0784.
ry truly yours,
Thomas Woodward
cc. Dan Maglionico, EBA Associates, Orangevale, CA
Gregory Basso, Forward Inc., Stockton, CA
825 Sonoma Ave., Suite C Post Office Box 4600 Santa Rosa, California 95402 (707) 544-0784 FAX (707) 544-0866
Also Auburn.
