OAS each load of waste is received it is dumped on the ground and visually inspected for the presence of containers or other indications of potentially hazardous wastes' Landfill oereonnel have been instructed that only empty , rinsed containers are permitted to be dumped at the site . If containers are present in the waste, they are checked to determine if they are empty ' If not empty they are checked for the presence of labels indicating what the contents are, Landfill Derannnel have been instructed that the containers should NOT be opened to determine their contents . If there is no clear indication of what is in the containers , they are set aside and the hauler that brought the waste is notified and asked to identify the contents . If the hauler can not identify what is in the containers they are asked to remove the containers from the site. If the containers are not removed within 24 hours the Toxic Substances Control Division of DOHS will be notified and asked to identify or remove the containers from the site . 7 . All landfill personnel are trained in the above procedures and undergo monthly evaluation to insure that the procedures are being followed and that all safety precautions are being observed when checking for the presence of hazardous waatee . All haulers have been notified of what wastes are accepted at the site and instructed not to bring Unacceptable wastes . Haulers bringing unacceptable wastes will be notified in writing that the wastes were not acceptable and asked to dispose of this type of material as required , 8 . A sign at the entrance clearly states that hazardous materials are not accepted at the site . 9 . In addition to the above , additional measures in regards to the checking for hazardous wastes may be required upon the request of the enforcement agenoy ' 10 . The site is open to private commercial accounts a minimum of oix days a week from 7 : 00 a. m. to 5 : 00 p .m. Hours are extended as necessary to accommodate haulers needs . 11 . 4 recycling center located at the landfill south of Littlejnhns Creek is operated under a separate facilities permit ( 39-4A�O2O ) - It is entirely separate from the landfill oneration . There are no shared employees , eouipment , access roads etc . .
