Box 6336 <br />Stockton, CA 95206 <br />Dear Mr. Basso: <br />MAY 2 6 1989 <br />GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN, Governor <br />119 J? *4), 1% <br />APPROVAL OF CLOSURE PLAN MODIFICATIONS DATED MARCH 9, 1989 FOR <br />FORWARD LANDFILL, EPA I.D.# CAD990794133 <br />The California Department of Health Services (DHS) and the <br />U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - Region IX have <br />reviewed the modifications to the Closure Plan dated <br />March 9, 1989, for the closure of the Hazardous Waste <br />Management Unit at the Forward Landfill located southeast of <br />Stockton. The Hazardous Waste Management Unit consists of <br />four trenches designated WMU-A on the north side of the <br />facility. <br />Pursuant to Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations <br />(CCR) Section 67212 and the regulations pursuant to the <br />Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, 42 Section 6901 et. <br />se-., the Closur_= Plan and 'Cl -le enclosed revised modifications <br />are determined to be acceptable and approved. You are now <br />required to comply with the specific steps and schedule of the <br />approved Closure Plan and modifications. Please note that <br />upon completion of closure, you and a certified registered <br />professional engineer must certify that the Closure Plan was <br />conducted in accordance with this approved Plan. Copies of <br />the certification must be submitted to both DHS and the EPA <br />for approval. <br />
