Requests for a <br />public hearing must state the nature of the issues to be <br />raised at the hearing and must be submitted in writing to DHS <br />at the above address by September 30, 1989. If a public <br />hearing is scheduled, a public notice stating the time, date, <br />and vocation of the hearing will be made at least 30 days- <br />prior to the hearing. <br />DHS and EPA will formally respond in writing to all comments <br />submitted during this public notice period. Both DHS and EPA <br />encourage all interested persons and organizations to <br />participate in this public review phase. Written comments <br />must be received before October 30, 1989. Public review and <br />comment are required in making hazardous waste related <br />decisions in order to meet our responsibility to protect <br />public health and the environment. <br />A final decision to approve, modify, or deny the proposed Post <br />Closure Plan and Permit shall be made after all comments have <br />been considered. <br />
