The other is located directly west of WMU FU-03, although this pond was recently reconstructed and is expected to become available again in November 2023. If necessary, temporary tanks will be brought onsite to store leachate until the pond is approved for disposal. The volume of leachate discharged to the leachate ponds or tanks is recorded in an onsite log. The site will be routinely inspected for leachate seeps from the landfill slopes. The inspections will be performed daily and any observed leachate seeps will be recorded in the inspection log. If seeps are observed,the site engineer will be contacted and the cause of the seep will be investigated. The LEA will also be notified. Remedial measures will be designed and implemented to control leachate seeps. The remedial action plan will be submitted to the LEA for review and approval,prior to implementing the plan. 5. WMUs All constructed WMUs at the site have been approved for disposal by the RWQCB. 6. Disposal Treatment Areas The WMUs that may receive waste during the winter of 2022-2023 include FU-03,FU-04,FU-05, FU-06,FU-08 Phase I,FU-08 Phase 11,FU-10,FU-13,FU-14,FU-17,and FU-19. Compost-overs may be stockpiled near the working face and will be utilized as necessary for traction control at the active face of the landfill. Compost-overs utilized for traction control will not be utilized as daily cover but will instead be treated as disposal at the end of the day and covered with approved daily cover materials. Any shredded tire usage will be utilized in accordance with the approved Shredded Tires Operations Plan from the Forward Landfill Joint Technical Document QTD). 7. Access Roads necessary for the safe operation of Forward Landfill during inclement weather are graded to promote drainage and direct water to a central collection point. Roads are winterized with asphalt, road base,crushed concrete,gravel,and recycled asphalt. Gravel has been delivered to the site and divided into strategically placed piles to perform repairs as necessary to the roads during the 2023- 2024 winter season. Access roads will be monitored on a daily basis and will be maintained, as needed,via the placement of gravel and/or the use of a motor grader.
