4 Environmental Analysis <br /> 4.13 Noise <br /> Alameda County Noise Ordinance <br /> The Alameda County Municipal Code Chapter 6.60, Noise, contains ordinances to control <br /> unnecessary, excessive noise. The following section would be applicable to the Project (Alameda <br /> County 2020). <br /> Section 6.60.040— Exterior Noise Level Standards <br /> It is unlawful for any person at any location within the unincorporated area of the county <br /> to create any noise or to allow the creation of any noise on property owned, leased, <br /> occupied or otherwise controlled by such person which causes the exterior noise level <br /> when measured at any single- or multiple-family residential, school, hospital, church, <br /> public library or commercial properties situated in either the incorporated or <br /> unincorporated area to exceed the noise level standards as set forth in Table 6.60.040A <br /> [shown in this report as Table 4.13-4]. <br /> Table 4.13-4. In the event the measured ambient noise level exceeds the applicable noise level <br /> standard in any category above, the applicable standard shall be adjusted so as to equal <br /> said ambient noise level. <br /> E. Notwithstanding the noise level standards set forth in this section, the noise level <br /> standard applicable to the emission of sound from transformers, regulators, or associated <br /> equipment in electrical substations shall be 60 dBA. <br /> 6.60.070 - Special provisions or exceptions. <br /> E. Construction. The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to noise sources associated <br /> with construction, provided said activities do not take place before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. <br /> on any day except Saturday or Sunday, or before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on Saturday or <br /> Sunday. <br /> Section 6.60.050(8) states the limits related to vibration.
