Visual Impact Assessment Griffith Energy Storage Project <br /> 1.0 OVERVIEW <br /> Griffith Energy Storage, LLC (Applicant), is proposing to construct and operate the 400-megawatt(MW) <br /> Griffith Energy Storage Project(Project)to provide reliable and flexible power to the local electrical <br /> system.The property on which the Project would be built consists of 106 acres (Property) of land in <br /> San Joaquin County.The Project would interconnect at the Tesla Substation immediately adjacent to <br /> the site in Alameda County via a 230-kilovolt interconnection generation tie (gen-tie) line.The energy <br /> storage facility is anticipated to house lithium-ion batteries totaling 400 MW of energy. Project <br /> construction would be in 2023 and 2024 and is anticipated to come online in 2024 or later. <br /> Tetra Tech, Inc. (Tetra Tech),was retained by the Applicant to perform a Visual Impact Assessment for <br /> the Project.This Visual Impact Assessment was prepared to identify and evaluate the potential visual <br /> and aesthetic impacts associated with construction and operation of the Project. <br /> OTETRA TECH 1 August 2023 <br />
