<br /> <br /> <br />Forward Landfill WMU FU-23 2 GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER (GCL) <br />02777 <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS AND NOTIFICATIONS <br /> A. Prior to shipment of the GCL, the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall provide the QA/QC CONSULTANT with a notarized certificate signed by an authorized representative of the Manufacturer stating that the product supplied meets the properties specified in this Section. <br /> B. Uncertified material that is installed shall be removed by the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR at no cost to the OWNER. <br /> C. Testing specified in this Section shall be performed for this project by a laboratory approved by the QA/QC CONSULTANT. <br />1.4 CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE MONITORING <br /> A. The QA/QC CONSULTANT shall monitor installation as outlined in the CQA Manual. <br /> B. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be aware of the activities outlined in the CQA Manual and account for these CQA activities in the installation schedule. <br />1.5 QUALIFICATIONS <br /> A. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be experienced in the installation of GCLs. In the event the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR is not experienced, a representative of the GCL Manufacturer shall be on site to train the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR, at no additional cost to the OWNER. <br />1.6 PACKING AND SHIPPING <br /> A. Geosynthetic clay liners shall be supplied in rolls wrapped in liquid impermeable and opaque protective covers. <br /> B. Geosynthetic clay liners shall be marked or tagged with the following information: 1. manufacturer's name; 2. product identification; 3. lot number; 4. roll number; and 5. roll dimensions. <br /> C. Transportation of the prefabricated geosynthetic clay liner is the responsibility of the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be liable for all damages to the materials incurred prior to and during transportation to the site.
