<br /> <br /> <br />Forward Landfill WMU FU-23 3 GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER (GCL) <br />02777 <br />1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND PROTECTION <br />A. Delivery. 1. Deliver materials to the site only after the QA/QC CONSULTANT accepts required submittals. 2. Separate damaged rolls from undamaged rolls and store at locations designated by the OWNER until proper disposition of material is determined by the QA/QC CONSULTANT and the OWNER. 3. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for damage to the GCL during delivery, even if the rolls are unloaded by the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR. The QA/QC CONSULTANT will determine damage. B. Handling, storage, and care of the geosynthetic clay liner, prior to and following installation, are the responsibility of the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR, until Final Acceptance of the liner system by the OWNER. <br /> C. The GCL shall be protected from moisture, excessive heat or cold, puncture, or other damaging or deleterious conditions. The GCL shall be stored off the ground and out of direct sunlight. Any additional storage procedures required by the manufacturer shall be the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR’S responsibility. <br />1.8 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING <br /> A. A pre-installation meeting shall be held to coordinate the installation of the geosynthetic clay liner with the installation of other components of the lining system. <br /> B. The geosynthetic clay liner shall be on-site fourteen days prior to the scheduled installation date to allow for completion of acceptance testing. <br /> C. The GCL shall be constructed concurrently with the HDPE Geomembrane and shall be completely covered with completed HDPE geomembrane at the end of each working day. GCL panel placement shall not precede HDPE geomembrane panel placement by more than four GCL panels. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.1 PROPERTIES <br /> A.
