Submit copy of verification surveys to the Construction Manager. <br /> <br />3.4.6 Granular Drainage Material <br /> <br />• Review the Contractor’s approved work plan of proposed methods to place granular <br />drainage material over geosynthetic installations. Determine and note corrective action <br />items if applicable. <br /> <br />• Perform soil tests to verify that the granular drainage material is in compliance with <br />material gradation and permeability requirements of the Specifications. Perform tests at <br />testing frequencies specified in Section 3.2.2. <br /> <br />• Monitor placement operations to verify that low ground pressure equipment is used in <br />accordance with the Specifications and that underlying geosynthetics installations are not <br />damaged during placement operations. Mark damaged geosynthetics and verify that <br />damage is repaired. <br /> <br />• Verify and record material thickness during placement operations. <br /> <br />• Coordinate with the Earthwork Contractor and Owner to perform verification surveys of <br />the granular drainage layer material upon completion of placement operations. Verify <br />corrective action measures as determined by the verification surveys. Verification <br />surveys will also be used to determine the limits of the LCRS granular drainage layer <br />material for measurement and payment applications. Submit copy of verification to the <br />Construction Manager. <br /> <br />3.4.7 Coarse Gravel <br /> <br />• Review the Contractor’s approved work plan of proposed methods to place coarse gravel <br />material over geosynthetic installations. Determine and note corrective action items if <br />applicable. <br /> <br />• Perform soil tests to verify that coarse gravel is in compliance with material gradation <br />and permeability requirements of the Specifications. Perform tests at testing frequencies <br />specified in Section 3.2.2. <br /> <br />• Monitor placement operations to verify that underlying geosynthetics installations are not <br />damaged during placement operations. Mark damaged geosynthetics and verify that <br />damage is repaired. <br /> <br />• Verify that geotextile is placed under and around coarse gravel as shown on the <br />Construction Drawings. <br />
