Perform tests at testing
frequencies specified in Section 3.2.2.

• Verify that soil materials that are too wet for proper compaction per Specifications are
properly aerated and processed to bring the moisture content of the material into the
acceptable range of the optimum moisture content.

• Verify that clay soils that are too dry for proper compaction per Specifications are
properly moisture conditioned and processed to bring the moisture content into the
acceptable range of the optimum moisture content.

• Verify that acceptable moisture is maintained to reduce desiccation of the clay liner
surface.

• Verify that the clay liner surface is free of ruts, gouges, and other features that might
damage overlying geosynthetics.

• Coordinate with the Earthwork Contractor and Owner to perform verification surveys at
the completion of clay liner operations. Verify corrective action measures as determined
by verification surveys. Verification surveys will also be used to determine the limits of
clay liner and clay earthfill for measurement and payment applications.
