23 May 2023 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 14-3154 An Employee• Owned Compony
Page 4 of 7
four feet bsg and directly beneath the glass pieces observed.
Soil samples were preserved at 11 feet bsg in T29131 and T29132; at 6 feet bsg in T29133;
and at 4 feet bsg in T29134, T29B5, and T29B7 through T29B14 by hand -packing the
material into precleaned and certified, 4 -oz, Teflon -lined closure, wide-mouth glass
sample jars (sample jars) and a 6 -inch portion of acetate sleeve. The ends of the sleeves
were covered with Teflon sheets, capped, and sealed with Duct tape. All samples were
labeled with soil boring location, depth, time, date, and sampler's initials and then placed
in a container with sufficient ice and transported under chain -of -custody procedure to
McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI) a California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation
Program (ELAP)-certified laboratory.
The soil samples were analyzed for the following constituents:
• Percent (%) moisture in accordance with ASTM D2216-05.
• Poly -chlorinated biphenyls (PCBs; dry weight) in accordance with EPA Method
8082 (Ultrasonic EPA SW 846 Method 3550C extraction method).
• Title 22 metals in accordance with EPA Method 6020.
• Semi -volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) including polyaromatic hydrocarbons
(PAHs) in accordance with EPA Method 8270.
3.2. BORING ABANDONMENT
Following sample collection, each boring was permanently sealed to prevent vertical
migration of potential contaminants. Soil borings were abandoned by backfilling with
Portland cement from the total depth to surface grade.
3.3. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT
Geoprobe soil sampling equipment was thoroughly rinsed with clean water after being
washed with a solution of Alconox. All soil cuttings and rinseate generated during drilling
activities were placed in Department of Transportation (DOT) -approved 55 -gallon drums,
covered, labeled, and stored on-site pending proper waste disposal.
4.0. FINDINGS
The findings and results were compared to one or more of the following environmental
screening levels: 1) the January 2019 California RWQCB Environmental Screening
Levels for commercial/industrial shallow soil exposure (ESLs); 2) the May 2023 Human
and Ecological Risk Office (HERO), Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA)-Note 3
screening levels for commercial/industrial soil, published by the California Department of
