1SELMONFIVE Health and Safety Requirements <br /> OSHA standards and the URS Health and Safety Program contain provisions for medical surveillance, <br /> health and safety training,personnel training,and documentation. <br /> 5.1 PERSONNEL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS <br /> • Eight hours of Competent Person Training; <br /> • URS Field Safety Training,four hours; and <br /> • Three days of work activity under the supervision of a trained and experienced supervisor <br /> Personnel will have: <br /> • received site orientation; and <br /> • reviewed the HASP. <br /> Current copies of training certificates and statements of medical program qualification for project URS <br /> personnel are maintained by the local office. <br /> 5.2 HEALTH AND SAFETY BRIEFING <br /> Before field investigation activities begin,a site-specific health and safety orientation shall be conducted <br /> for all on-site employees,including subcontractors. The health and safety meeting will be a two-way <br /> conversation,i.e.,subcontractors must participate and discuss the hazards of their tasks and <br /> equipments. <br /> The following topics will be discussed at the briefing: <br /> ® Health and safety personnel names and alternates responsible for site health and safety; <br /> • Site hazards; <br /> • PPE; <br /> • Safe work practices; <br /> • STOP WORK authority; <br /> • Air monitoring; <br /> • Emergency procedures; and <br /> • Other applicable topics. <br /> At the end of the briefing,attendees will be informally quizzed to assess their understanding of the health <br /> and safety requirements. <br /> If an employee who has not gone through the site-specific health and safety briefing is assigned to the <br /> site,the SHSO must present a similar briefing to the new employee before they participate in any field <br /> UMH:\WPROCESS\25532\WORLDENTERPRISE\WELL DESTRUCTIONWTTACHMENT C WORLD ENTERPRISES HSP TG EDITS.DOC\18-NOV-11\\ 5-1 <br />
