If the
bite or sting is from a poisonous spider or produces a severe reaction, calm the victim and keep
him/her from moving about, preferably in a prone position, and call 911. Class A:B:C fire extinguishers will be available at the work site to control or extinguish small or
incipient fires,if trained personnel are present. If the fire cannot be controlled, the SSO or designee will
evacuate all personnel to a location upwind of the work site, and advise the on-site fire chief of the
location, nature and types of any hazardous materials, fuels,or other hazards present at the work site.
6.2.5 Medical Emergency
In the event of a serious injury or illness, field personnel will immediately contact 911 for assistance and
an ambulance.
