The <br /> physical barrier or signage shall be placed so that they are visible to personnel approaching or <br /> working in the area . Barriers and boundary markers shall be removed when no longer needed . <br /> 9 . 2 . 4 OTHER CONTROLLED AREAS <br /> Other work areas may need to be controlled due to the presence of an uncontrolled hazard , to <br /> warn workers of requirements, or to prevent unauthorized entry . Examples include general <br /> construction work areas, open excavations, high noise areas , vehicle access areas , and similar <br /> activities or limited access locations . These areas shall be clearly demarcated with physical <br /> barriers ( fencing, cones, reinforced caution tape or rope ) as necessary and posted with <br /> appropriate signage . <br /> 9 . 3 DUST CONTROL <br /> Prior to any excavation , the soil will be pre -watered to mitigate dust . Reduced drop heights will <br /> be implemented when direct loading of excavated soil . All stockpiles shall be covered with <br /> weighted durable polyethylene sheeting . Work will cease if dust monitoring action levels are <br /> exceeded . <br /> 9 . 4 VISITOR ACCESS <br /> ICS Superintendent will be responsible for assigning personnel the task of maintaining visitor log <br /> with the following information : <br /> • Personnel visiting the work area , <br /> • Affiliation , <br /> • Date, <br /> • Arrival time , <br /> • Departure time , <br /> • Purpose of visit . <br /> 9 . 5 IMPORT SOIL / EXPORT AND TRUCKING CONTROL <br /> In addition to any third - party documentation requirements and control measures , at the SSO ' s <br /> discretion ICS will require a manifest for each truck that has entered the job site , so as to properly <br /> control trucking pathways and to properly document the ingress and egress of trucks and <br /> material . <br /> At the SSO ' s discretion , any truck arriving on location will be notified of manifests requirements, <br /> and any truck leaving location must have been issued a manifest at the last port or station before <br /> 60 <br />
