nnovative <br /> onstruction <br /> olutions <br /> 14 . 0 SANITARY FACILITIES <br /> 14 . 1 SANITATION <br /> Sanitation facilities shall be provided in accordance with OSHA regulations . OSHA requires <br /> employers to provide all workers with sanitary and immediately available toilet facilities <br /> ( restrooms ) . The sanitation standards ( 29 CFR 1910 . 141, 29 CFR 1926 . 51 and 29 CFR 1928 . 110 ) <br /> and ( Cal - OSHA T8 CCR § 1526 and T8 CCR § 1527 ) are intended to ensure that workers do not <br /> suffer adverse health effects that can result if toilets are not sanitary and/or are not available <br /> when needed . <br /> COVID - 19 Coronavirus <br /> Refer to Attachment 7 : COVID - 19 Mitigation Protocols and Preparedness Plan , either attached to <br /> this document or via the web based SiteDocs Mobile Safety App . <br /> Toilet / Washing Facilities . <br /> Toilet and washing facilities provided are to comply with the following requirement : <br /> • Be maintained in a clean , sanitary condition and cleaned on a regular basis . <br /> • Toilet facilities shall be maintained in good working order, assure privacy with an adequate <br /> supply of toilet paper . <br /> • Portable Toilet is vented and equipped , as necessary, with lighting . <br /> • Have an adequate supply of water and soap for effective washing and have a readily <br /> available supply of single - use towels or a warm - air blower . <br /> • Provide a sign or equivalent method of notice indicating that the water is intended for <br /> washing only; and be located outside of the toilet facility and not attached to it . <br /> • Where there are less than 5 employees, and only one toilet facility is provided , the required <br /> washing facility may be located inside of the toilet facility . <br /> • Where toilet will be occupied by no more than one person at a time , can be locked from the <br /> inside , and contain at least one toilet, a separate toilet for each sex need not be provided . <br /> Where such single - occupancy rooms have more than one toilet facility, only one such facility <br /> in each toilet room shall be counted . <br /> • Employees with mobile crews must provide readily available transportation that provides <br /> prompt access ( less then 10 mins ) to restrooms if they are not available at the work location . <br /> • Portable Trailers Mounted Toilets must have a back - stand deployed if left detached from <br /> vehicle <br /> 73 <br />
