Post sign on the main gate today. Corrected on site. 911 and address signs are fading. Provide clear signs in 1 week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) #4 Safety Equipment OBSERVATIONS: Life ring is locked in the equipment room. Place life ring in an accessible area today. Corrected on site. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. (CCR 65540) #5 Restrooms and Showers OBSERVATIONS: Pool restrooms is lacking paper towels and soap. Provide paper towels and soap before opening pool. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall ensure the following facilities are maintained and kept clean: showers, toilets, dressing facilities, drinking fountains, diaper-changing stations, floors, walls, partitions, doors, and lockers. Showers (except outside) shall be provided with soap in dispensers. Toilet facilities shall be provided with toilet tissue, hand soap, and paper towels or hot air blowers in permanently installed dispensers. Pool operator shall provide a minimum of one waste receptacle in each toilet facility. Wooden slats, duckboards and footbaths are prohibited. (OCR 65535, 65551) Showers and lavatories shall be provided with hot and cold water faucets. Maximum water temperature at showers and lavatories shall not exceed 110*F. (CBC 3116B) #8 Pool and Deck Lighting OBSERVATIONS: The light fixture is not functioning. Repair / replace light bulb prior to opening for public, or post a sign of 4-inch letters on the main gate stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK". CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and shall secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (3115B) #14 Chemical Water Test Kit OBSERVATIONS: No test kit observed on site. Correct in one week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain a test kit for measuring the disinfectant residual, combined chlorine, pH, and cyanutic acid (if used) at the pool. Test kit shall be available at all times the pool is in use. Chlorine and bromine test kits shall be DPD type. Chlorine test kits shall be capable of testing for free and total chlorine, so that combined chlorine concentrations can be determined.
