San Joaquin County <br />Department of Public Works <br />County of San Joaquin Dept of Public Works IIPP Rev 2020-01-31.docx P a g e | 8 <br /> Conducting routine inspections of work areas, reporting on conditions and <br />correcting on unsafe conditions <br /> Promptly investigate accidents and injuries to determine cause(s) to prevent <br />recurrence <br /> Ensure adherence to safe practices, rules, procedures and policies of <br />Department and the County <br />1.4.4 Employees <br /> Attend periodic training and meetings on this subject matter. <br /> Follow safe practices as listed by state law, county policies, practices and as <br />provided during training classes on the subject <br /> Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisors or managers for correction <br />1.4.5 -Division Safety Coordinators <br /> Review IIPP and provide recommendations to update whenever there are <br />changes in state laws and regulations <br /> Update training materials to be provided to employees, managers and <br />supervisors for division level training. <br /> Provide educational sessions to managers and supervisors covering the <br />subject matter that will be shared with other employees. <br /> Conduct periodic safety and hazardous condition inspections and report on all <br />findings <br /> Maintain safety and health communications within the Department and/or <br />Division <br /> Scheduling of Department Safety Committee meetings with management and <br />employee representatives <br />1.4.6 –Department Safety and Health Representative <br /> Coordinating the day-to-day activities of the department’s Safety and Health <br />Program <br /> Working with County Risk Management to implement the IIPP <br /> Maintaining safety and health communications within the department <br /> Acting as safety and health program advisor to the Department Head and <br />reporting safety and health problems within the department <br /> Coordinating safety and health training within the department <br /> Monitoring the abatement process for identified hazards <br /> Ensuring that all required reports are completed in a timely manner and filled <br />out by the appropriate personnel <br /> Attending Safety and Health Committee Meetings and appropriate training <br />courses
