County of San Joaquin Dept of Public Works IIPP Rev 2020-01-31.docx <br /> Page 65 <br />Tag-out: The placement of a tag-out device on an energy-isolating device, in accordance <br />with an established procedure, to indicate that the energy-isolating device and the <br />equipment being controlled may not be operated until the tag-out device is removed. <br />Tag-out device: Any prominent warning device, such as a tag and a means of <br />attachment that can be securely fastened to an energy-isolating device to indicate that <br />the machine or equipment to which it is attached may not be operated until the tag-out <br />device is removed. <br />3.3 Legal Authority <br />3.3.1 State Laws <br />California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 8, §3314 Cleaning, Repairing, Servicing, <br />and Adjusting Prime Movers, Machinery and Equipment <br />3.4 Roles and Responsibilities <br /> <br />3.4.1 Director / Deputy Director <br /> Review and approve any changes to the IIPP related to the subject matter <br />covered in this material <br />3.4.2 Division Heads / Managers <br /> Review and recommend changes to the IIPP related to the subject matter <br />covered in this material <br /> Oversee training of supervisors and employees as it relates to this subject. <br />3.4.3 Supervisors <br /> Revise and recommend changes to the IIPP related to this subject material. <br /> Oversee periodic training as required by law and county policy <br /> Ensure adherence to safe practices of county employees as covered by county <br />policies and procedures. <br />3.4.4 Employees <br /> Attend periodic training and meetings on this subject matter. <br /> Follow safe practices as listed by state law, county policies, practices and as <br />provided during training classes on the subject. <br />3.4.5 Safety Coordinators <br /> Review IIPP and provide recommendations to update whenever there are <br />changes in state laws and regulations <br /> Update training materials to be provided to employees, managers and <br />supervisors for division level training. <br /> Provide educational sessions to managers and supervisors covering the <br />subject matter that will be shared with other employees. <br />
