All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #4 Safety Equipment MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: No safety equipment on site. Provide life ring and rescue pole with body hook prior to opening this spa. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. (CCR 65540) #16 Water Clarity MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: The bottom of the spa is not clearly visible from the deck. This spa shall be closed and shall not be reopened until the spa water is clean and clear. A re-inspection is required to verify the spa water clarity. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain clear pool water while pool is in use or shall close the pool if the bottom of the pool at the maximum depth is not clearly visible from the deck. (CCR 65527) #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Diarrhea sign is not location at the entrance area of a pool. The pool operator shall post at the entrance area of a public pool, a sign in letters at least 1 inch (25 mm) high, that clearly states that persons with diarrhea and persons who have had diarrhea within the prior 14 days shall not enter the pool water. Correct in a week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) #7 Pool Deck OBSERVATIONS: There are gaps between spa coping and deck/concrete floor. Seal these gaps within one month. Overgrown vegetation observed around the deck and emergency shutoff area. Clean and maintain facility clean within one week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4-foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any diving board, ADA device, or slide.
