• Drill and install of one groundwater monitoring well (MW-16) to a depth of 105 feet bgs,
approximately 200 feet northeast of CPT 12.
• Advance one hydropunch boring (HP2) and collect a groundwater sample from
approximately 80 feet bgs approximately 200 feet south of CPT9. Hydropunch technology
has been selected at this location as opposed to installing a groundwater monitoring well
due to overhead high voltage electrical utilities that restrict the use of a standard towered
drill rig.
• Drill and install one groundwater monitoring well (MW-17) to a depth of 80 feet bgs
approximately 250 feet southeast of CPT10.
• Analyze groundwater grab samples collected from the hydropunch borings HP 1 and HP2.
• Survey and develop the newly installed groundwater monitoring wells.
• Semi-annual sample newly installed and existing groundwater monitoring wells.
• Evaluate data and prepare report.
SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION ACTIVITIES
All boring, well installation and sampling activities will be performed by or under the direction
of a State-Certified Engineering Geologist or Professional Geologist in accordance with
applicable regulations and accepted engineering practice and protocol. Field procedures to guide
field personnel during the conduct of field work are included in Appendices C.
PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES
Prior to initiation of drilling activities, FREY personnel will obtain an encroachment permit from
the City of Stockton for advancement of two hydropunch borings and installation of two
groundwater monitoring wells within the City of Stockton's right-of-way. Upon acquisition of
the encroachment permit, a drilling permit will be obtained from the SJCEHD.
Upon acquisition of the permits, a utility locating contractor will be used to identify and mark
detectable utilities in the immediate vicinity of the proposed boring locations. Additionally, each
location will be marked with white paint and USA will be notified of the date and location of the
proposed drilling.
A Site-Specific Health and Safety plan will also be prepared in advance of the field activities.
Activities related to this subsurface investigation will be conducted under the direction of a
California Certified Engineering Geologist and a California Registered Geologist.
HYDROPUNCH GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
Borings HP1 and HP2 will be advanced at the approximate locations shown on Figure 3 to the
target groundwater sampling intervals using precleaned drive rods equipped with a hydropunch
sampling tool that will be advanced through the drive rods to expose a 4-foot section of
hydropunch screen for collection of a groundwater sample. Groundwater samples will be
collected using dedicated 0.25-inch diameter Teflon tubing fitted with a stainless-steel check
valve. Collected water samples will be transferred to laboratory-supplied 40 milliliter vials.
Each sample vial will be labeled with project specific information and stored in an insulated
chest pending transport to the analytical laboratory under chain-of-custody documentation.
FREY Environmental,Inc. 8 Project No. 1095-01
