KNIFE RIVER N.C.R.M. <br />HAZARD COMMUNICATION PROGRAM <br />(Revised 11/09) <br />1. The Safety and Environmental Representative is responsible for the Hazard <br />Communication Program. <br />2. An inventory of hazardous substances found at the work place, a copy of the <br />Cal/OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and Material Safety Data Sheets <br />(MSDSs) are located at each facility in loose leaf binders. The Safety and <br />Environmental Representative has a master set of MSDSs. <br />3. A copy of this Hazard Communication Program, with attachments, is kept at each <br />company facility. <br />4. Employees may review MSDSs, The Hazard Communication Standard and this <br />Hazard Communication Program at each company facility. <br />5. The MSDS binders are updated by the Safety and Environmental Representative <br />when hazardous substances are added to or removed from the company's <br />inventory, or when new hazards are identified. Any new hazards or substantial <br />changes in the quantity of a hazardous substance will be reported immediately to <br />supervisors and the Safety and Environmental Representative. <br />6. Containers of hazardous substances entering a company facility will be checked <br />by the person authorized to receive the substance to assure that the containers <br />are properly labeled with the chemical name of the contents, the appropriate <br />hazard warning and the name and address of the supplier or manufacturer. <br />7. In -plant containers of hazardous substances will be labeled with the chemical <br />name and a hazard warning. Exceptions must be approved by the Safety and <br />Environmental Representative. <br />
