There will be a stream of reject material ejected from the THOR into the MSW residue bin/box. When the MSW residue bin/box is
full it will be replaced. The full bin/box will be transported to the scale house where the material will be weighed, and a receipt
given to the driver. The material will then be transported to the Automated Disposal Area for disposal on the Tipping/Sorting Floor.
To summarize portions of the above; all bins with materials rejected from the THOR shall be replaced on the same day and
transported for disposal.
At the end of the day on days when the THOR is processing material all material in the hopper will be conveyed by the twin screws
into the THOR hammer mill and the hopper and loader will be cleaned of food residue with a hose.Any water in the hopper will be
removed using the THOR wet pack pump which will convey the liquid into the THOR hammer mill. Again, at the end of each
operational day the THOR hammer mill will be washed utilizing the internal spray system. Any liquid will be conveyed into the
slurry discharge conveyance system. Slurry discharge conveyance can contain material at the end of the day, however that
material will not generate noticeable odors or attract vectors. At the end of the day all food waste processing equipment,
carts/boxes/tanks will be cleaned so as not to generate objectionable odors or attract vectors. The bunker shall be back bladed with
the loader bucket rubber cutoff blade and/or hand squeegee, with collected material placed with the day's final material in the
hopper. At the end of the day the bunker, hopper, and residue bin/box will contain no food waste or residue material. No
box/tank/truck containing food waste will remain on site. To summarize portions of the above; at the end of the day, regardless of
the level of material in the box/tank/truck, the box/tank/truck will be removed from Lovelace and transported to a composter or
digestion facility, no food waste, processed or unprocessed, is to remain at Lovelace. Any oil, grease or other accumulation
resulting from processing of food waste will be removed utilizing appropriate chemical or mechanical methods.
Processed food waste shall only be transported to a CalRecycle authorized permitted solid waste facility or operation for receiving
food waste, or a California State Water Resources Control Board permitted facility for anaerobic digestion of food waste. Manteca
will select a food waste composter or anaerobic digestion facility based on market conditions.
