Periodic Maintenance
1. Before physical inspection or maintenance is performed on the machinery,THE
POWER MUST BE DISCONNECTED AND LOCKED OUT FROM THE MACHINE.This should
prevent accidental start up during plant maintenance procedures.
2.The V-belt drive should be checked at least once a month for propertension and belt
condition per the belt manufacturer's guidelines. Please see enclosed belt
manufacturer's manual for details (electronic copy).
3. All bearings and motors must be inspected and lubricated regularly. Please see
enclosed bearing manufacturer's manual for details (electronic copy). (Also, bearing
lube recommendations listed on the motor plates.)
4. Paddle assemblies mounted on the main shaft need to be checked at least once a
week(except THOR and Mega THOR paddles)These paddles may become disrupted
when impacted during the depackaging process. These paddles will also wear down.
The paddles are set for pitch angle as well as distance from the screens. Paddle settings
are dependent on product being ran through the machine. If paddles are showing signs
of wear or damage they should be adjusted or replaced. Improper adjustment of the
agitator can cause damage to the machine. Please call if you have any questions or refer
to the Settings Manual.
5.The machine may need to be cleaned regularly depending on the characteristics of
the product. Before cleaning, DISCONNECT POWER AND LOCKOUT AT THE CONTROL
PANEL. Remove covers where applicable for easy access. When complete, replace and
properly secure covers.
6. Unusual noises coming from the machine should be investigated immediately. SCOTT
EQUIPMENT IS NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGE DUE TO NEGLECT ON THE PART OF THE
OPERATOR. If you are concerned about noise that the machine is making, please shut
down and call a Scott Equipment service representative immediately.
7. Stuffing box seals need to be inspected every 6 months for moisture or contamination
on the shaft. Replace oakum stuffing box material from spares kit provided.
8.
