Periodic Maintenance <br /> 1. Before physical inspection or maintenance is performed on the machinery,THE <br /> POWER MUST BE DISCONNECTED AND LOCKED OUT FROM THE MACHINE.This should <br /> prevent accidental start up during plant maintenance procedures. <br /> 2.The V-belt drive should be checked at least once a month for propertension and belt <br /> condition per the belt manufacturer's guidelines. Please see enclosed belt <br /> manufacturer's manual for details (electronic copy). <br /> 3. All bearings and motors must be inspected and lubricated regularly. Please see <br /> enclosed bearing manufacturer's manual for details (electronic copy). (Also, bearing <br /> lube recommendations listed on the motor plates.) <br /> 4. Paddle assemblies mounted on the main shaft need to be checked at least once a <br /> week(except THOR and Mega THOR paddles)These paddles may become disrupted <br /> when impacted during the depackaging process. These paddles will also wear down. <br /> The paddles are set for pitch angle as well as distance from the screens. Paddle settings <br /> are dependent on product being ran through the machine. If paddles are showing signs <br /> of wear or damage they should be adjusted or replaced. Improper adjustment of the <br /> agitator can cause damage to the machine. Please call if you have any questions or refer <br /> to the Settings Manual. <br /> 5.The machine may need to be cleaned regularly depending on the characteristics of <br /> the product. Before cleaning, DISCONNECT POWER AND LOCKOUT AT THE CONTROL <br /> PANEL. Remove covers where applicable for easy access.When complete, replace and <br /> properly secure covers. <br /> 6. Unusual noises coming from the machine should be investigated immediately. SCOTT <br /> EQUIPMENT IS NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGE DUE TO NEGLECT ON THE PART OF THE <br /> OPERATOR. If you are concerned about noise that the machine is making, please shut <br /> down and call a Scott Equipment service representative immediately. <br /> 7. Stuffing box seals need to be inspected every 6 months for moisture or contamination <br /> on the shaft. Replace oakum stuffing box material from spares kit provided. <br /> 8. Monitor and replace gear reducer lubrication per the manufacturer's recommended <br /> schedule(digital copy provided). <br /> 151 Page <br />
