HASP-Additional Site Investigation for PFAS BSK Project#E20-016-01F <br /> Stockton Metropolitan Airport(SCK) May 5,2023 <br /> Stockton, California Page 3 <br /> • Halting Site operations, if necessary,to correct unsafe work practices. <br /> 2.2 Site Safety Officer <br /> The Site Safety Officer's(SSO) duties may be carried out by the PM or other Site manager. To protect the <br /> health and safety of BSK personnel, responsibilities of the SSO include: <br /> • Implementation of HASPs, and reporting deviations from anticipated conditions described in the <br /> plan to the PM, and, if necessary,the Regional Health and Safety Manager(RHSM). <br /> • Establishing that monitoring equipment is calibrated on a regular basis and that the results are <br /> properly recorded and filed. <br /> • Maintaining monitoring equipment and checking to make sure it is operating correctly. <br /> • Identifying Site personnel with special medical problems (e.g., allergies, perforated eardrum, <br /> etc.) and confirming suitability of work based on physician's recommendations. <br /> • Monitoring workers for signs of stress such as heat exhaustion, fatigue, or chemical exposure. <br /> • Conducting periodic safety meetings. <br /> • Selecting personal protective equipment and monitoring its maintenance and proper use. <br /> • Monitoring decontamination procedures used by Site personnel. <br /> • Monitoring work conditions and exposure to chemical and physical hazards. <br /> • Controlling entry and exit to work Site. <br /> • Coordinating emergency medical care. <br /> • Knowing emergency procedures and appropriate telephone numbers (i.e., hospital, ambulance, <br /> police, and fire departments). <br /> • Assuming other duties as directed by the PM or RHSM. <br /> 2.3 Regional Health and Safety Manager <br /> Responsibilities of the Regional Health and Safety Manger(RHSM) include: <br /> • Periodically auditing operations for compliance with this plan. <br /> • Providing Health and Safety support as requested by the SSO and PM. <br /> 2.4 Project Personnel <br /> Project personnel involved in on-Site investigations and operations are responsible for: <br /> • Following code of safe practices and taking reasonable precautions to prevent injury to <br /> themselves and to their fellow employees. <br /> • Performing only those tasks that they believe they can do safely. <br /> • Immediately reporting accidents and/or unsafe conditions to the SSO or PM. <br />
