Carefully remove and dispose of gloves <br /> 4. Piercing: N/A <br /> 5. Permanent Cosmetics: N/A <br /> 6. Branding: N/A <br /> E. Prevention of Cross Contamination: Describe the techniques used to prevent the contamination <br /> of instruments, tattoo machine, trays, tables, chairs, clip cords, power supplies, squeeze bottles, <br /> inks, pigments, lamps, stools, soaps and the procedure site or other items during a body art <br /> procedure. Include barriers provided to prevent cross contamination. Describe how the <br /> procedure site is prepared for a body art procedure. (California Health and Safety Code 119308, <br /> 119309, and 119311 (c)(d)(e)(f)) <br /> Practitioner is required to thoroughly wash hands with soap and warm water before beginning any <br /> set up. All equipment such as chairs, armrests and headrests are to be covered in clear plastic <br /> wrap prior to each appointment, Clean set of gloves is required when collecting supplies for set <br /> up. All supplies to be used for the procedure should be placed on a clean sterile workstation/tray. <br /> All machine's. clip cords, and squeeze bottles are to be covered in protective sleeves. Practitioners <br /> should have all supplies ready before beginning procedure. However, if required to re-fill supplies. <br /> new gloves are to be used for gathering, then replaced with new gloves before returning to <br /> procedure. Procedure area is for Practitioner and client only. There is a barrier wall to block <br /> anyone from coming into procedure area.All Practitioners are required to complete and comply <br /> with Bloodborne Pathogens Training. Certification and Guidelines. <br /> F. Sharps containers: Describe the procedures for the safe handling of sharps and indicate the <br /> location of the sharps containers. Indicate disposal frequency for sharps waste. (California <br /> Health and Safety Code 119314 (e)) <br /> Needles are immediately removed after use and disposed of into Bio-Hazard Labeled Sharps <br /> container located in the in the procedure area away and out of reach from others. Once the <br /> container is filled, Sharps container is mail-back to medical waste facility. Mail-back occurs 2-3 months. <br /> Page 5 of 12 <br />
