Bin contained sharps and pharmaceutical waste. Bin must be labeled with “HIGH HEAT” or “INCINERATION ONLY” labels <br />on all sides and lids so as to be visible from any direction. Bin must have a tight fitting lid at all times to maintain sharps. <br />4. Please label the biohazard containers on the nurses carts with the words “Biohazardous Waste” or with the international <br />biohazard symbol and the word “BIOHAZARD” on the lid and sides so as to be visible from any laterial direction. <br />5. Please place biohazard waste in a biohazard bag. Remove clear plastic bags from nurses carts and only use biohazard <br />bags to store biohazard waste. <br /> <br />25. Biohazard bags shall be containerized and stored pursuant HSC 118280. <br />OBSERVATIONS: <br />1. The containers within the designated accumulation area were not lined properly with biohazard bags that fit the containers. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: <br />1. Please line the containers in the designation accumulation area with the proper sized bags for the containers. <br /> <br />31. Medical waste generators shall update their medical waste management plan when any of the information on the plan <br />changes. If updated, the medical waste generators shall submit the plan to the EA withing 30 days of the change. Medical <br />waste management plans shall be onsite for review during an inspection upon request. <br />OBSERVATIONS: <br />1. Medical waste management plan was not on site for review. – Corrected <br /> <br />All corrections due to EHD by May 7th 2025 <br /> <br /> <br />NOTES; <br />1. Inspection report is emailed to Richard Verstl. <br />2. Medical Waste Management Plan was updated on site and a copy was provided to EHD. <br />3. Medical Waste Manifests were reviewed from 9/11/23 – 3/18/25. <br />4. Stericycle continues to be the medical waste hauler for this site.
