GENERAL EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> ..9 PAGE 2 <br /> discussed in the following subsections. <br /> 1.5.1 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) <br /> Personnel performing decontamination must comply with the corporate and site-specific <br /> Health &Safety Plan, which will specify the necessary PPE and will include applicable <br /> Toeroek Safe Work Practices. This equipment may consist of the following items: <br /> • Protective clothing (coveralls, Tyvek®, Saranex®, or splash suits) <br /> • Face shield or safety glasses <br /> • Nitrile gloves <br /> • Full-face respirator (air-purifying chemical cartridge or supplied air respirator) <br /> 1.5.2 Decontamination Equipment <br /> The equipment required to conduct decontamination may include: <br /> • Scrub brushes <br /> • Large wash tubs or buckets <br /> • Squirt bottles <br /> • Alconox or Liquinox <br /> • Tap water (potable) <br /> • Distilled water and/or Deionized (medical-grade) water <br /> • Isopropanol (pesticide grade), methanol and/or hexane, or dilute (0.1 N) nitric acid <br /> • Plastic sheeting <br /> • Aluminum foil, resealable bags (e.g., Ziplocs®), or clean containers for <br /> decontaminated equipment <br /> 2.0 PROCEDURES <br /> The following procedures discuss decontamination of PPE, drilling and monitoring well <br /> installation equipment,borehole soil sampling equipment,water level measurement <br /> equipment, general sampling equipment, and groundwater sampling equipment. <br />
