Revised Remedial Action Plan
Menillin Real Estate Investment Property
2154 South El Dorado Street,Stockton,California
Page 6
6. Apex does not propose any system monitoring except influent and effluent monitoring and
sampling.During routine operation and maintenance, wellhead vacuum pressure should be
monitored at each DPE well. Assuming Apex proposes new dedicated DPE wells, vacuum
pressure in the surrounding monitoring wells should also be monitored to evaluate radius
Of influence.
7. By 25 March 2022, please submit a revised RAP that includes the following:
a. A proposal for additional dedicated DPE wells (Comment 1).
b. Clarification as to which wells will be utilized as DPE wells (Comment 2).
c. A revised proposal of DPE well screen intervals (comment 3)
d. Clarification of proposed the dewatering capability of the system, as well as the
capability of the system to remove vapor in the presence of large volumes of water
(comment 4).
e. A system well/manifold piping construction design plan with the possible
expansion capacity (Comment 5).
f. A plan for operating and monitoring the system for efficiency and efficacy
(Comment 6)
PURPOSE OF MULTI-PHASE EXTRACTION REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN
The purpose of this Revised RAP is to address the CVRWQCB comments and concerns above
along with detailing the proposed installation of a MPE system at the Site. The primary goals of
the system are to reduce and/or cease hydrocarbon migration in groundwater as well as effectively
reducing concentrations of hydrocarbons in the soil beneath the Site.
To accomplish these goals, Apex proposes to use existing wells VW-1 through VW-3 and 6
additional MPE wells (MPE-1 through MPE-6) as depicted on Figure 3. Apex will use
submersible pneumatic pumps installed in each well to effectively draw down groundwater while
applying vacuum to extract soil vapor from each wellhead. To ensure flexibility for system
expansion, two (2) sets of underground piping will be installed from the compound (vapor lines,
pressure rated hose for supply compressed air to the pumps and groundwater water return line
hose) to junction boxes installed in the common system trench. A proposed trench layout is
included in the attached Figure 4,
