(Geosyntec) prepared this Rail Line Area Monitoring Well <br /> Destruction Work Plan(Work Plan)' Addendum on behalf of the Port of Stockton(Port)to request <br /> approval to destroy piezometer P-108 in the Landfill Area at Rough and Ready Island(RRI), Port <br /> of Stockton, California(Figure 1). <br /> The Work Plan provided a plan to sample, destroy and replace monitoring wells in the Landfill <br /> Area to accommodate construction of a soda ash terminal facility, including rail line at RRI. The <br /> Work Plan was approved by the California Environmental Protection Agency Department of <br /> Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) on May 19, 20212 and Central Valley Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board(CVRWQCB) on November 19, 20203. The well and piezometer destructions <br /> were completed in November 2022. During the soda ash terminal facility construction activities, <br /> piezometer P-108 was found within the construction area. P-108 is a damaged piezometer that <br /> had not been included in the Work Plan. Geosyntec is requesting authorization to destroy P-108 <br /> by overdrilling the piezometer using the hollow stem auger drilling method and grouting the <br /> borehole in accordance with the approved Work Plan procedures.
