Mr. KRISNEIL NAIR
Forward Landfill
May 23, 2023
Page 2
After sampling, the cassette intakes were plugged, labeled with pertinent sampling information,
and shipped to ATEML for analysis. A chain of custody record, detailing the sample
identifications, date and time collected, analysis requested, and other pertinent information
accompanied the samples to the laboratory. ATEML analyzed the samples for asbestos fibers
using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) described in the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH) method 7402 modified.
FIELD OBSERVATIONS
Sample collection was completed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:42 p.m. on April 28, 2023. Active
disposal activities were occurring while monitoring was being conducted. Meteorological data
from Stockton Airport which is located approximately 2 miles west-northwest of the Forward
Landfill was reviewed for April 28, 2023. The mean temperature on this date was 73.1
'Fahrenheit(°F) with a high of 91 °F and a low of 64 °F. The wind speed during monitoring was
0 to 9 miles per hour (mph) out of the west/northwest with gusts up to 13 mph. Calm wind
conditions were reported for the portion of the day. The average relative humidity during
monitoring was 37.3 percent with ranges from 27 to 51 percent. There was no rain recorded
during monitoring on April 28, 2023.
AIR MONITORING RESULTS
Laboratory reports and the executed chain-of-custody record are attached in Appendix B.
Analytical results for the April 2023 sampling program are summarized below.
SAMPLE AVERAGE FLOW SAMPLE IDENTIFIED ASBESTOS CALCULATED ASBESTOS
STATION RATE VOLUME Fibers STRUCTURE CONCENTRATION
(LITERS/MINUTE) (LITERS) (CHRYS./AMPH.)
