The USEPA Stage 4 validation consists of the items likes for USEPA Stage 2A and the <br /> following: <br /> • Review of the initial and continuing calibration for each method; <br /> • Review of instrument specific qualify control (ex. Tune checks, interference <br /> checks) for applicable methods; and <br /> • Recalculation of reported results from the raw instrument outputs. <br /> Data will be validated according to analytical method specifications, laboratory <br /> standard operating procedures, this QAPP, and applicable guidelines set forth in the <br /> following source as appropriate: <br /> • USEPA, 2001b. Region 9 Superfund Data EvaluationNalidation Guidance EPA <br /> R9QA/006.1. December. <br /> • USEPA, 2020. National Functional Guidelines for Inorganic Superfund Methods <br /> Data Review, EPA 542-R-20-006. November. <br /> • USEPA, 2020. National Functional Guidelines for Organic Superfund Methods <br /> Data Review, EPA 540-R-20-005. November. <br /> The data verification/validation will be requested based on project need by the Project <br /> Manager. The data verification/validation task will be performed and documented by <br /> the QA Manager. The QA Manager will assess whether the objectives for the analytical <br /> data have been met and apply appropriate data qualifiers as necessary. In any area not <br /> specifically addressed by the above sources, best professional judgment will be utilized <br /> and described in the data validation document. Data validation qualifiers will indicate <br /> whether results are considered estimated or rejected. Only rejected data are considered <br /> unusable for decision-making purposes; however, other qualified data may require <br /> further evaluation. <br /> Results of the data validation will be documented and summarized in a data validation <br /> memorandum. The memorandum is submitted to the Project Manager for review. The <br /> Project Manager is responsible for communicating significant issues relating to the data <br /> verification/validation process to client. <br /> Appendix C 17 <br />
