MCKOMNUND
Oxygen
In addition, the soil gas samples will be analyzed for the selected leak detection compound
(helium) used during sampling activities. A second moral of soil gas sampling will be performed
during the second quarter of 2019. The sampling will be performed concurrently with second
quarter 2019 groundwater monitoring event.
3.2 TASK 2 — SOIL INVESTIGATION
Soil horings will be advanced near former UST locations in ceder to collect samples for chemical
analysis. A total of five borings are proposed: one in the vicinity of Tanks I, 2, and 3; one at the
location of Tanks 4 and 5; one at the location of Tanks ], 8, and 9; and two at the location of Tanks
I I through 14 (Figure L1). Bach of these locations are described in more detail below. It is noted
that the RWQCB has requested that shallow soil samples be collected at depths of 0-5 fort bgs and
0-10 Well bgs. Soil borings will be located just outside of the former tank excavation fomprim a in
ocher to avoid sampling hackfill material room these depths.
• Tanks I thmugh 3: A single soil boring will h s advanced to a claims of at least 27 feet hgs
o collect a soil sample for MTBG analysis. This depth corresponds to the reported depth
of the UST excavation in this area and may be adjusted baud on Iilhological observations
during drilling. In addition, samples will be collected fmm the 0-5 and 5-10 fat hgs
intervals. The boring will be located near existing boring 1111-3, which had elevated TPH
concentrations. in order to collect a representative sample. Soil samples than this boring
will be analyzed for TPHg, TPHd, tool oil and grease (TOG), MTRF volatile organic
compounds (VOCs), SVOCs, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinmed
biphenyls (PCBs), and Title 22 metals.
• Tanks 4 and 5: A single soil boring will be advanced W a depth of approximately 10 fret
bgs. Soil samples will bs collected from the 0-5 and 5-10 feet bgs intervals for analysis of
TPHg, MTBE, VOCs, and PAHS.
• Tanks6thmueh 9: One boring will be advanced at the location of Tanks 7 through 9. The
boring insulted to address 'Tanks I through 3 have above) will also be used m address"Tank
6. 'Ihe herrings will be advanced to a minimum depth of 27 first bgs.
