7.2 Emergency Equipment <br /> It is our understanding that the general contractor will have equipment available on-Site to handle <br /> emergencies such as injuries, fires and spills. This equipment includes first aid supplies, fire <br /> extinguishers,personal protective equipment and spill response equipment. <br /> 7.3 Medical Treatment/First Aid <br /> First Aid Kits and an eye wash station will be located in the main support areas. Community <br /> emergency services (EMS, Fire, and Police) shall be notified immediately if deemed their <br /> resources are needed on Site. If necessary, the injured or sick party shall be taken to a local area <br /> hospital. FREY shall maintain a map showing the route to an area hospital and emergency <br /> telephone numbers (Attachment B). <br /> 8.0 MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> Medical monitoring programs are designed to track the physical condition of employees on a <br /> regular basis as well as survey pre-employment or baseline conditions prior to potential exposures. <br /> The medical surveillance program is a part of FREY Health and Safety program. <br /> 8.1 Baseline Medical Monitoring <br /> Prior to being assigned to a hazardous or a potentially hazardous activity involving exposure to <br /> toxic materials, employee must receive a preassignment or baseline physical. The contents of the <br /> physical are to be determined by a FREY medical consultant. The preassignment physical should <br /> categorize employees as fit for duty and able to wear respiratory protection. <br /> 8.2 Periodic Monitoring <br /> In addition to a baseline physical, all employees require a periodic physical within the last 12 <br /> months unless the advising physician believes a shorter interval is appropriate. <br /> Personnel assigned to a hazardous or a potentially hazardous activity involving exposure to toxic <br /> materials will verify currentness (within 12 months) with respect to medical monitoring. <br /> 8.3 Exposure/Injury/Medical Support <br /> As a follow-up to an injury or possible exposure above established exposure limits, all employees <br /> are entitled to and encouraged to seek medical attention and physical testing. Depending upon the <br /> type of exposure, it is critical to perform follow-up testing within 24-48 hours. <br /> FREY Page 14 <br />
