Hazard Statement—Describes the nature and degree of the hazard. <br /> 5. Precautionary Statement—How to minimize or prevent adverse effects from exposure. <br /> 6. Name, address, and phone number of chemical manufacturer, distributor,or importer. <br /> The same product identifier is found on the label,the SDS,and the chemical inventory.Therefore,the <br /> product identifier links these three sources of information.The product identifier used by the supplier <br /> may be a common or trade name, or a chemical name. <br /> The existing labels on incoming containers of hazardous chemicals are not removed or defaced unless <br /> the container is immediately marked with an in-house label. Our labels are legible and prominently <br /> displayed,though their sizes and colors can vary. <br /> All Managers,all Team Leaders, and Safety Coordinators are responsible for ensuring that all hazardous <br /> chemicals in in-plant containers are properly labeled and updated and ensures that newly purchased <br /> materials are checked for labels prior to use. <br /> All Managers and Shipping/Warehouse Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring the proper labeling <br /> of any shipped containers. <br /> HMIS labels will be used on secondary containers and any labels on shipped containers will be from the <br /> manufacturer meeting the GHS requirements. <br /> If an employee transfers chemicals from a labeled container to a portable container that is intended <br /> only for their immediate use, no labels are required on the portable container. <br /> The following procedures are used to review and update label information when necessary and to <br /> ensure that labels that fall off or become unreadable are immediately replaced: Management and <br /> Safety Coordinators perform periodic audits.Any labels identified with a deficiency will be replaced. <br /> Training <br /> Everyone who works with or is potentially"exposed"to hazardous chemicals will receive initial training <br /> and any necessary retraining on the Hazard Communication Standard and the safe use of those <br /> hazardous chemicals through the following: <br /> ■ Online training course SAF-102-03 "ACM Hazard Communication". <br /> • Written Hazard Communication Program, polices, procedures. <br /> ■ Hands on training covering site-specific chemicals, potential hazards,and how to handle and <br /> store hazardous chemicals. <br /> "Exposure" means that"an associate is subjected to a hazardous chemical in the course of employment <br /> through any route of entry(inhalation, ingestion,skin contact or absorption, etc.)and includes <br /> potential (e.g., accidental or possible) exposure."Whenever a new hazard is introduced or an old <br /> hazard changes, additional training is provided. <br /> 3 <br />
