CAR Appliculion - INR Apph nct: ;fit um��cn�cnt 3)c>cripii�ros versal Service Recycling Appliance Management Descriptions A CAR is responsible to appropriately manage MRSH from major appliances and vehicles III they are contained prior to crushing for transport or transferring to a baler or shredder for recycling, in a manner which will prevent hazardous material release to the environment. OSR follows the definitions of MRSH found in the California Public Resource Code - PRC § 40) (67. Universal Service Recycling (USR) will employ trained personnel to remove Materials that Require Special Handling (MRSH), track those materials, safely store and ship them to authorized rccyclers and/or hazardous waste disposal facilities. USR may contract licensed third party contractor(s)* to remove refrigerant and/or other MRSH received at USR facilities. General Knowledge — Universal Seivice Recycling is a small quantity generator of hazardous waste and receives various types ol'appliances including but not limited to; refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, water heaters, stoves/ovens, and microwaves. These appliances can contain multiple materials requiring special handling such as; • Mercury devices • Used oil, halogenated oil, and greases Refrigerants • PCB, DEI -IP and Non -PCB capacitors • Other hazardous wastes including but not limited to; lamps, bulbs and batteries Major appliances acid vehicles can arrive to USR from government agencies, private businesses, and private customers as scrap, or to be sold to USR as scrap. Products with M1tSF1 shrill follow the DTSC published guidelines including, CAR Flowchart to ensure proper documentation requirements. All DTSC required documents, Form 1430 and Form 149, will be completed and/or collected and then provided to the EHS Manager for continued regulatory use and recordkeeping requirements. Training — USR Employees handling the removal of MRSH will have completed appropriate training prior to handling/processing MRSH. All refrigerant MRSH removal contractors will meet EPA certification(s) in accordance with DTSC requirements, prior to removing refrigerant and/or other MRSH From major appliances at USR. *Campos Bros. Recovery, Inc. (CAR # 053) 1) is currently the contracted third party pro cessing refrigerants and/or other MRSH for Universal Service Recycling. All USR personnel assigned to process MRSH will receive site specific and equipment specific training for the tasks they will perform.
