I wanted to check back to see if
1) You've had an opportunity amongst yourselves to consider rescinding the violation aspect of the
inventory entry that exists for the nitrogen gas cylinders? The existing combined entry for nitrogen
and nitrogen calibration gas already notes their minor distinction and identifies both locations
onsite (warehouse and VRU). In my opinion, there is no omission of information. If you'd prefer
them to be listed separately I can go into CERS and make that change, but is it possible to
consider that to be a recommendation rather than a violation?
2) Also, do you have any information I can share with my management about the "repeat" aspect of
the Notice of Violation (NOV)for the eyewash bottles on the map? I searched our inspection and
violation database going back only as far as 2020 and could not locate any prior violations with
your agency. Marathon's management system/tracking database classifies repeat violations very
seriously. Any clarification about the previous issue is greatly appreciated.
I'm available by phone to chat as well at(949) 887-9731.
Ruthanne Walker
Senior Environmental Professional
L&S Terminals
TH0K Mobile:949-887-9731
Email:
RMWalker@marathonpetroleum.com
From: Walker, Ruthanne M.
Sent:Thursday, October 2, 2025 11:03 AM
To:Sammons, Lynsey [EHD] <Isammons@sigov.org>
Cc:Suszycki, Michael [EHD] <msuszycki@sigov.org>; Rodriguez, Sal<SRodriguez3@marathonpetroleum.com>; Bruss,
Paul E. <PEBruss@marathonpetroleum.com>; Mathews, Shan S. <JSMathews@marathonpetroleum.com>; Little, Nathan
G. <NGLittle@marathonpetroleum.com>
3
