Zarc Recycling
Stockton, CA

Environmental, Health, and Safety Inspection Report
September 20, 2024
Summary The purpose of the inspection was to provide Zarc Management with observations to guide improvements to the EHS program and confirm adequate adherence to the Zarc EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The inspection covered Warehouse operations and storage and an EHS SOPs review. Robin K. Spencer, CHMM, ToR-QISP conducted the inspection on September 20, 2024.
Observations
Zarc does a good job inspecting fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and eyewash stations. There are signs pointing to the fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and eyewash stations. There are fire extinguishers positioned around the warehouse and two eye wash stations as well as two first aid kit around the work area. Warehouse map had arrows pointing to emergency exits and there was map of outside yard as well. Observed there was indicator for the evacuation meeting area. Observed issue with syrup tank that had previously been leaking had been sealed and signage posted indicated OUT OF SERVICE. Inspected the hazardous materials area and did not see any hazardous materials accumulated. Was informed that Zarc doesn’t take in hazardous materials from customers, and if found, will be returned to customers. Verified SDS sheets were available in cabinet outside the kitchen/break room. Verified training was taking place for workers. Reviewed training records and training materials used in the training. Emergency preparedness training was taking place quarterly. There was training on fire extinguisher usage on September 6, 2024 with fire extinguisher company. Inspected work surfaces in the general work area and did not see any build up of residuals. Zarc didn’t dismantle TV’s/monitors so there was minimal exposure to hazardous lead dust. Employees clean up their work area at the end of each day. Thank you. Please let me know if you have questions or need clarifications. Robin Spencer, CHMM, ToR-QISP September 20, 2024
