Zarc Recycling
Stockton, California
Environmental and Safety Site Inspection
October 3, 2023

The purpose of the site visit was to present annual hazardous materials/hazard communication
training to employees and to conduct an EHS-focused site inspection.

The findings are presented below.

Warehouse
- Fire extinguishers are placed around the warehouse. Saw they were inspected monthly
with the attached service tags.
- Two eye wash stations were available, one outside the kitchen/break room, and another
one at the dismantling station. Saw they were inspected monthly as well.
- Syrup was leaking from the old tank in the back, need to be cleaned up. Position
container underneath to collect it, eventhough it is non-hazardous. Label the tanks as
“out-of-service”.
- Inspected the hazardous materials area and did not see any hazardous materials
accumulated. Was told that no hazardous materials are accepted, and if found, will be
tagged as non-conforming and returned to customer.
- Verified SDS were available in cabinet outside the kitchen/break room.
- Propane tanks were safely stored inside metal rack with proper GHS signage outside.
- Was told housekeeping was happening daily. This include cleaning and wiping work
areas and tools. Verified housekeeping logs and they were updated.
- Verified training was taking place for workers. Reviewed training records and training
materials used in the training. Emergency preparedness training was taking place
quarterly. There was training on using fire extinguishers on August 8, 2023 provided by
extinguisher company.
- Inspected work surfaces in the general work area and did not see any build up of residuals
anywhere. Was told the workers do not dismantle any monitors or televisions, so less
chance of lead contamination. Also, was told the workers do not handle or dismantle
mercury devices such as scanners, projectors, and anything with a thermostat.

Outside yard
- The outside yard looked good. Site management stated that bins and gaylord boxes are
covered or brought inside the warehouse in the event of predicted rain.
- Was told by management that site has submitted NEC with the State Waterboard.
Verified application submitted from 2018 and current SMART’s status was active.
- Verified fire extinguisher was available in the car port area and it was inspected monthly
as well.
