Geosyntec'� <br /> consultants <br /> requirement for hard hats and hard-toed boots may be reduced with the approval <br /> of the SHSO and PM. <br /> • Minimize contact with impacted materials.Do not place equipment on the ground. <br /> Do not sit or kneel on potentially contaminated surfaces. <br /> • Smoking, eating, or drinking after entering the work zone and before personal <br /> decontamination is not allowed. Employees who are suspected of being under the <br /> influence of illegal drugs or alcohol will be removed from the site.Workers taking <br /> prescribed medication that may cause drowsiness shall not operate heavy <br /> equipment and are prohibited from performing tasks where Level C or B PPE is <br /> required. <br /> • Practice good housekeeping. <br /> • Use of contact lenses is not allowed under certain hazardous working conditions. <br /> • The following conditions must be observed when operating a motor vehicle: <br /> o Wearing seat belts is mandatory. <br /> o The use of headlights is mandatory during periods of rain, fog, or other <br /> adverse weather or low-light conditions. <br /> o A backup warning system or use of vehicle horn is mandatory when the <br /> vehicle is engaged in a backward motion. <br /> o Posted traffic signs and directions from flagmen must be observed. <br /> o Equipment and/or samples transported in vehicles must be secured from <br /> movement. <br /> o The use of vehicles acquired by Geosyntec by non-Geosyntec personnel <br /> is prohibited. <br /> • In an unknown situation, always assume the worst reasonable conditions. <br /> • Be observant of your immediate surroundings and the surroundings of others. It <br /> is a team effort to notice and warn of dangerous situations. Withdrawal from a <br /> hazardous situation to reassess procedures is the preferred course of action. <br /> • Conflicting situations may arise concerning safety requirements and working <br /> conditions.
