Job Task Driving (Streets and Highways) <br /> Publish Date: August 28, 2017 Origination Date: June 12, 2007 <br /> Check for appropriate tire tread and tire pressure.Tread should be <br /> greater than 4/32"deep and tire pressure should be set to <br /> manufacturer recommendation, located on the sticker inside the <br /> drivers-side door frame. Inspect tire for abnormal wear, cuts, sidewall <br /> abrasions, and lug nuts are tight. Ensure spare tire is present, <br /> properly inflated, and in good condition. <br /> Verify all headlights, brake lights, running/marker lights, reverse <br /> lights, and turn directionals are intact and operational. If not, get <br /> Pre-Trip preparation them repaired prior to departure. <br /> Verify operation of horn. <br /> Inspect vehicle for damage. Report all damage (even windshield <br /> cracks)to staff responsible for vehicle maintenance/management. <br /> Vehicle not functioning properly Record damage in LIPS System. <br /> Adjust seat and mirrors. Driver should be able to effectively check the <br /> vehicle's surroundings by using the mirrors, looking behind, and <br /> looking over the shoulder. Side-view mirrors should be adjusted out <br /> to reduce the size of the vehicle's blind-spot, not to look down the <br /> side of the vehicle. <br /> Be knowledgeable of the performance characteristics of the vehicle. <br /> Know if the vehicle is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), <br /> traction control, vehicle stability control, etc. and know how each <br /> system works. <br /> Familiarize yourself with the creature comforts available in the <br /> vehicle prior to departure, like climate control, sound system, <br /> windshield wipers, cruise control, etc. Driver should be able to easily <br /> reach and manipulate all controls of the vehicle with minimal <br /> distraction.Adjust mirrors, seats, and ventilation before driving. <br />
