SOIL PROBE BORINGS AND SAMPLING <br /> AGE proposes to advance a total of two (2) soil probe borings to the east and west of the <br /> former UST area (Figures 2 and 3). The boring to the west will be advanced to <br /> approximately 30 feet bsg or to where first groundwater is encountered; the boring to east <br /> will be advanced to a total depth of approximately 65 to 75 feet bsg or until second <br /> groundwater is encountered. All borings will be advanced utilizing a van-mounted direct <br /> push drilling rig. <br /> Discrete soil samples will be collected in the borings at five-foot intervals to characterize <br /> lithology and identify the second water-bearing zone for deep grab groundwater sample <br /> collection. Soil sampling will begin at 40 feet bsg in the proposed deep boring to the east <br /> of the former UST area. Procedures for advancement of soil borings and sampling are <br /> presented in Section 3.0. <br /> Grab groundwater samples will be analyzed by a California Environmental Lab <br /> Accreditation Program (CELAP)-certified lab for the following: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g, and <br /> TPH-d) in accordance EPA method 8015M. <br /> • Volatile organic compounds, including naphthalene, in accordance with EPA <br /> method 8260B. <br /> Laboratory reports for water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain-of-custody documentation <br /> will be presented in a report with the findings and recommendations. <br /> 2.4. REPORT PREPARATION <br /> Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be <br /> prepared presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description <br /> of the work performed and results of the sampling and analysis. Conclusions, applicable <br /> recommendations and maps will be included in the report. The report will be in a format <br /> acceptable to the CVRWQCB and will be reviewed and signed by a California <br /> Professional Geologist. <br /> 3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of <br /> a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for boring advancement, well installation, <br /> sample collection, well development, well survey and groundwater sampling are <br /> described below. <br />
