between the depths of 67 and 77 feet bgs (FREY, 2024). Well construction details are further
summarized in Table 4.
Groundwater monitoring wells MW16 and MW17 were initially sampled on September 28,
2023, as part of the third quarter 2023 semi-annual groundwater monitoring and sampling event.
Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the groundwater sample collected from monitoring
well MW 16. TPH-GRO, benzene, ethylbenzene and naphthalene were detected in the
groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW 17 and concentrations of 2,400 ug/l,
700 ug/l, 84 ug/l and 14 ug/l, respectively (FREY, 2024). Groundwater sample analytical results
are further summarized in Table 3.
Based on the results of the investigation, FREY concluded that the lateral and vertical extent of
petroleum hydrocarbons south of boring HP2 and south and southeast of well MW-17 were not
adequately assessed(FREY, 2024).
GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING (2004—2024)
Quarterly or semi-annual groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted by AGE from
the first quarter 2004 through the third quarter 2018. FREY resumed semi-annual groundwater
monitoring and sampling in the first quarter 2021. Based on groundwater monitoring data
collected by FREY between the third quarter 2021 and the third quarter 2024, the direction of
groundwater in the shallower-screened monitoring wells has generally ranged between south-
south westerly and southeasterly. With exception to the third quarter 2024, the direction of
groundwater flow in the deeper-screened wells (75-80 feet) has been predominately
northeasterly. Sketches showing groundwater elevations and estimated directions of
groundwater flow in shallower screened (20' - 55') and deeper screened (75' — 80' and 95' —
105') wells measured during the first quarter 2023 groundwater monitoring and sampling event
are presented in Figures 4 and 5, respectively. A rose diagram incorporating shallow screened
and deeper screened wells for flow direction estimates are presented in Figures 6 and 7,
respectively.
Sketches showing TPPH and benzene in groundwater from the third quarter 2024 groundwater
monitoring and sampling event are presented in Figures 8 through 11. Historical groundwater
analytical data is summarized in Table 3.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the scope of work outlined below are to: 1) assess the potential presence of
petroleum hydrocarbons in shallow soils adjacent to a suspected former UST location
approximately 200 feet south of Site; and, 2) further assess the lateral and vertical extent of
petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater to the south and southeast of the Site.
FREY Environmental,Inc. 8 Project No. 1095-01
